Ballet Theatre of Phoenix Presents a Spring Performance the light on spring with a selection of delightful choreography on May 28 Prepare to be mesmerized by a captivating collection of choreography that seamlessly blends classical ballet masterpieces with imaginative scenes. The Spring Recital, a showcase of the immense talent possessed by all members of the Ballet Theatre of Phoenix studio, promises to captivate audiences with two spellbinding performances at 11 am and 3 pm. This delightful event will take place at the prestigious Arcadia High School Theater, situated at 4703 E. Indian School.
The highlight of BTP’s Spring Recital is the second act of the timeless ballet, Giselle. Widely adored for its ethereal white spirits (Willis) gracefully gliding across the stage, this act will showcase the elegant precision of the performers. Leading the cast are the talented Mariana Perez as “Giselle” and Enrique Solis as “Alberecht,” performing an exquisite pas de deux. Victoria Lazareva will bring the character of “Myrtha,” the Queen of the Willis, to life. This magnificent performance is choreographed by the esteemed Director of Ballet Theatre of Phoenix, Jennifer Cafarella-Betts.
In addition to Giselle, the Spring Recital will feature a captivating piece titled La Mer, which will transport audiences to an enchanting underwater realm through the artistry of Ballet Theatre of Phoenix’s youngest members. Expect to be immersed in a world teeming with imaginative sea creatures.
Completing the program is Lander’s delightful Etudes, where dancers will skillfully portray a progression of movements within a “classroom” setting. Audiences will witness their artistry evolve as they take on increasingly challenging sequences, sure to delight and inspire.
