Pacific Northwest Ballet Celebrates 50th Anniversary Season Finale with Worlds to Come.

A Spectacular Finale: Pacific Northwest Ballet Unveils Worlds to Come, an Extraordinary Program of Premieres for its 50th Anniversary Season

As the grand finale of its momentous 50th Anniversary Season, Pacific Northwest Ballet presents Worlds to Come, a captivating lineup of new dance works. The program features world premieres by acclaimed choreographers Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Kiyon Ross, as well as the on-stage premiere of Edwaard Liang’s mesmerizing piece, The Veil Between Worlds. Running for seven performances from June 2 to 11 at Seattle Center’s Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, this extraordinary production promises to enchant audiences with its dynamic and diverse repertoire.

PNB Artistic Director Peter Boal shared his thoughts on the innovative choreographers behind Worlds to Come, stating, “When I consider works by Edwaard Liang, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and Kiyon Ross, the phrase ‘choreographers of our time’ seems to fit perfectly. Edwaard utilizes dance as a means to explore the connections and distances between individuals, dismantling barriers and revealing unexpected points of unity. Annabelle fearlessly tells stories that deepen our understanding of complex concepts and subjects. In her latest creation for PNB, she draws inspiration from the Scarab beetle and the Egyptian god Khepri, symbols of rebirth and renewal. Kiyon, a true neo-classicist, brings a fresh approach to choreography and color that resonates with his generation. Together, these choreographers, in collaboration with composers and designers, have crafted works that reflect the spirit of our time.”

The Worlds to Come program lineup is a captivating mix, featuring Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s world premiere, Khepri; Edwaard Liang’s highly anticipated live performance premiere of The Veil Between Worlds; and Kiyon Ross’s world premiere piece, …throes of increasing wonder.

In addition to the live performances from June 2 to 11, a PNB conversation and dress rehearsal will take place on June 1 at 5:30 pm in the Nesholm Family Lecture Hall at McCaw Hall. This event offers an insightful discussion with PNB Music Director/Principal Conductor Emil de Cou, PNB Associate Artistic Director Kiyon Ross, and composer Cristina Spinei. Ballet Talks, free to ticket holders, will also be held one hour before each performance. After each show, ticket holders can join the Meet the Artist session for a Q&A with Artistic Director Peter Boal and PNB dancers.

Tickets for the live performances of Worlds to Come range from $37 to $195, with discounts of up to 20% available for groups of ten or more. The program will also be digitally streamed from June 15 to 19, with digital access tickets priced at $35.
