The slow walk is taken on four counts, with the man stepping forward on the first two counts and the woman stepping back on the last two counts. The quick walk is taken on two counts, with the man and woman stepping together on the first and apart on the second count. The chasse is taken on six counts, with the man and woman alternating, stepping forward and to the side. The run is taken on four counts, with the man and woman stepping together on the first two counts and apart on the last two counts.
