Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre is organizing an exciting Workshop Series at Peridance from June 26-30, 2023. The workshop will run from Monday to Friday, 4-5:30 p.m. Each individual class is priced at $24, or you can opt for the full week rate of $100. Secure your spot by registering here.

The Workshop Series at Peridance offers a diverse range of dance experiences, including Modern Dance technique, company repertory, improvisation, and collaborative dance making. Participants will engage in exercises and learn repertory phrases that emphasize clear execution, intentional movement initiation, dynamic energy flow, compelling dynamics, and intriguing rhythmic structures. Throughout the workshop, dancers will explore the use of props and delve into movement guided by emotional expression. Feel free to attend any combination of days or join for the entire 5-day series. By participating in multiple days, dancers will have the opportunity to take risks, expand their performance skills, and nurture their creative abilities.

Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre, founded in 2000, is dedicated to creating dynamic dance theater that evokes emotional expression through a captivating blend of athleticism and articulation. Having presented over 95 productions at prestigious NYC venues such as Tribeca Performing Arts Center, New York Live Arts, Dance Theatre Workshop, Dance New Amsterdam, Ailey Citigroup Theater, John Jay College, and Mark Morris Dance Center, Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre has firmly established its presence in the dance scene. The company has also been invited twice to Jacob’s Pillow and has showcased their talent at various events including the DUMBO Dance Festival, Dance Teacher Summit, Movement Research, and Pushing Progress Series. In addition, they have taken their performances to festivals, hosted open rehearsals and interactive events, and provided arts education programs through Notes in Motion for students and families in NYC public schools.
