Ballet Hispánico has announced The Legacy Gala, an event to celebrate the life and legacy of its founder, Tina Ramirez, and honor The Miranda Family with the Nuestra Inspiración Award. The award will be presented by Academy Award-winning actor, Ariana DeBose.

The Gala will take place on June 1 at New York City Center. The festivities will kick off with a red carpet and cocktail hour at 5:30pm, followed by the Company’s season-opening performance. The celebrations will continue with a seated dinner at The Plaza Hotel, hosted by Ana Navarro, co-host of The View, and featuring performances by students from the Ballet Hispánico School of Dance and the music of Grammy Award winner Oscar Hernandez and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

The Miranda Family, recipients of the Nuestra Inspiración Award, have been recognized for their contributions to Ballet Hispánico and their advocacy of Latinx cultures and artists. The Miranda Family Fund has amplified the voices of Latinx artists and paved the way for their stories to be shared with wider audiences. Their support for Ballet Hispánico educational programs, such as the tuition-free Pa’lante Scholars program, has helped the next generation of Latinx artists to succeed professionally.
