This groundbreaking event showcases the artistry of three esteemed choreographers, Rena Butler, Larry Keigwin, and Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, as they bring their unique contemporary dance works to life. Collaborating with visual artist Yatika Starr Fields, Rena Butler creates captivating costume pieces that further elevate the performances.
Unboxed marks a significant milestone for dance in the region, cultivating original intellectual property with exceptional creative minds. It not only enriches the local community with inspiring works but also establishes a platform to share these productions with audiences nationwide. To encourage inclusivity, there will be a special Family Matinee on June 24, featuring a free Movement Class led by Alfonso Pulé of The Groovemeant Community.
